Experience the Beauty of the Hill Country

Begin the New Year season in Kerrville’s breathtaking and untouched Hill Country. Kerrville is an ideal environment for birding, fishing, hiking, and so much more. Home to the headwaters of the Guadalupe River and set to the backdrop of sprawling green hills, outdoor adventures as well as the tranquility of nature are at your fingertips in Kerrville.

The Kerrville River Trail

Kerrville’s River Trail invites you to explore its 6 mile stretch through the heart of historic downtown Kerrville, offering the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or bike ride. Whether you have an hour or a whole afternoon, you can explore at your own pace. There are few better places than the River Trail to access Kerrville’s beautiful outdoors. While on the trail, be sure to make time for Kerrville-Schreinner Park. This park provides river access and spans 517 acres with over 10 miles of trails, a butterfly garden, and much more. As your adventures work up an appetite, plan your stops along the trail at culinary hot spots featuring craft food and beverage, live music, and celebrations of the arts.

The Sparkling Guadalupe River

Seated at the headwaters of the Guadalupe River, your access to the sparkling waters of one of Texas’ most beloved rivers begins in Kerrville. The river is the perfect place to kayak, canoe, or paddle your way through scenic cypress trees. Amenities along the river offer respite for visitors to stay fueled and fed to continue their river adventure. Those who love to fish should bring their poles to cast lines for the chance to catch a variety of fish including the Texas state fish, the Guadalupe Bass.

Patios with Handcrafted Cuisine

Keep the outdoor vibes going by enjoying Kerrville’s craft culinary scene while continuing to soak up our sunshine. Enjoy restaurants with charming patios all throughout downtown, along the Guadalupe, or tucked away in the hills for breathtaking views. After visiting the local boutiques downtown, enjoy the patios of our cafes and bistros. With an array of cuisine, you’re sure to find something everyone in your group is craving. Enjoy sparkling water scenes at local favorites along the Guadalupe River such as Thai Ocha, Billy Gene’s, and more. If you’re with the whole family (including the furry, four-legged members), check out Ringo’s on the River or Café at the Ridge. At both of these restaurants, families can have a great time and unwind as the little ones play and dine on kid-friendly menus. As the sun begins to set on your adventurous day, sway to the sounds of live music by local musicians at one of our breweries, such as Pint & Plow Brewing Co.

Kerrville is brimming with outdoor adventure! How will you craft your next getaway?
